How Numb Can You Be?

Occasionally, in hindsight, some of life's most chaotic and traumatic moments can make one laugh. After 23 hours of labor pain which preceded the birth of my first child, the doctors finally decided to show some mercy and give me an epidural. After my daughter was born, it was time for me to transfer to another room. Two nurses held me by each end of the table to put me on a stretcher. When they began moving me, I panicked and gasped "Oh! My legs are still there! They aren't with me!!" Both the nurses lost no time in replying "They're still with you honey; half of your body is still numb."
